Why Criston Killed Lord Beesbury in House of the Dragon
Ser Criston killed Lord Beesbury in House of the Dragon because he alone stood against the plots of the small council. Ser Criston took it as an insult to Queen Alicent Rewatching the scene, it’s clear Ser Criston was attempting to force Lord Beesbury back to his seat. Unfortunately, Ser Criston has, on several occasions, taken things too far and now he has Lyman Beesbury’s blood on his hands. While it’s unclear if murder was Ser Criston’s intention, it does solve the mystery of Lord Beesbury’s whereabouts at that time in Westerosi history. Two separate accounts claim Ser Criston either slit Beesbury’s throat or threw him out the window onto spikes outside; a third claim said he was taken to the Black Cells, then dying shortly after. Either way, he spoke up against the Greens and that’s why Ser Criston killed Lord Beesbury in House of the Dragon.
